That was WAY COOL RSpeed! Thanks for a little excitement! It kinda gives some of us "diehards" a little chance to be rewarded for our dedication to MCO!

Just knowing Rspeed's tie-in with Miata's and the general look of these new *****, I was surprised to see that they were not Sola ***** but Monte Carlo *****. Peter, is Sola not making ***** to fit MINIs?

Great price compared to what else is out there, but does anyone know if the RSPEED ***** shorten the shift throw like the Walen ****? (details at www.whalenshiftmachine.com)

Hey guys - some answers for you.

1) the ***** are made out of solid billet aluminum - and they are either chromed, polished with a stainless look or powder coated in black.

2) The powder coating is a true powder coating - not rubberized and yes, they will get a little cold in the winter, but not as cold as bare metal ones (like the top of stock)- but you can always get cool driving gloves or use baby socks.

3) Yes, Sola is making these ***** exclusively for us.

4) This **** will not shorten your throws - it fits right into place where your OEM ***** goes. We supplied Sola the entire shifting mech to make sure these fit precisely - which they do.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask - there are more pictures at our web site of some different finishes.

Matt! I was surprised that wasn't the first reply in this thread! Those checks really stand out with the interior array! Nice

I knew someone would mention the mats .
Peter's mats are called compliments of R Speed Japan. They are very....very expensive about $295.00 a set 4

We are currently working on a more affordable alternative for the U.S. Market.

Please stay tuned and we will have something for you all in a few weeks.

I hope?!!!!

Fon J

Let me know when you get them in as the ones from MINI are a bit drab and I'm making our next demo MINI a check-machine and this would help out the interior. Make mine CR/Silver or CR/Grey throw in a boot mat and put me down for an order.

I like the chrome look, but how does it hold up to finger prints from shifting. Am I going to have to carry a cloth with me to keep cleaning it?

Chrome is pretty resilient to to figer prints and it holds up much better than polished items but will get murky when loaded up with dirt and greese.

If you want to see chrome what I mean just examine you sock **** from time to time.

I usually wipe down my chrome about every 2 weeks just keep it fresh with my shirt sleve or unlimited supply of Starbucks napkins.

I would say that chrome interior items are maintanace free for the most parts like your windshield etc...

These are cool! In NJ you need to have the shift pattern somewhere (not necessarily on the the ****). Does the **** come with a sticker or something? Decisions Decisions....
