New M7 lower grill installed.

The installation is very easy, as taking off the front bumper took about 10 minutes. After you unclip the OEM plastic grill, it is simply a matter of drilling 3 small holes and attaching the new grill, which fits the opening perfectly.

A few other options for a cleaner look is to paint all the aluminum parts behind the grill with high temp black, including the lower section of the crash bar behind the bumper. Also, I cut out the plastic outside air temp sensor mounting bracket and attached this to the lower edge of the crash bar for a secure fit.

I purchased the M7 ultimate Grille from m7tuning.com. This is the identical product from GrillCraft, and it came with their badge attached, which I removed.

My original plastic grill kept popping out of the lower front tab. Once the bumper was off the car, I noticed that this mounting tab was missing the metal clip located on the back side…….as this has been mentioned by others, I wonder how many other Minis are missing this clip?

Looks awesome. I have had mine for about a year now and it still looks new. I also got the rear grills, which I absolutely love!

How hard is the install? You take off the front bumper and ?

I need one with the tow-hook area cut-out, for track misadventure use

You can cut a circle with a hole saw (with a wood backing for the grill) or wire cutters then use a large rubber grommet for the tow hook.

What does "other applications" mean? More grille options for MINIs, or grilles for other kinds of cars?

(I'm still hoping you'll come to your senses and add paintable trim surrounds to your upper and middle front grilles. C'mon we need a metal version of the aero kit grille that will fit a stock MCS bumber without causing a headache!)

i thought the M7 didn't require drilling and what not.

only the AERO kits.

You have to drill three small holes in the plastic bumper to hold the grill. Click on the link in my sig and then go the the M7 grill install section to see my install photos. Two of them show the mounting screws pretty well.

M7 vs MOSS

I see that in 05 M7 said they had this grill exclusively

but a grill from the same maker is in the MOSS catalog

are they different?

daleCarlsbad,

Sweeeet! I was just getting ready to buy the M7 grills, upper, middle and lower and was wondering about installing the lower. Are you going to install the middle and upper?
