I've had my MINI less then a day, and there is a black line on the passanger side mirror cap. I tried rubbing it off with my finger, but its a no go. So my qustion is, what should I uses to get this off without hurting my mirror cap?

bug and tar

bug and tar remover works for me, the marks are a common thing.. but I don't worry about the marks so much anymore as my car is a daily driver and commuter/road warrior

On my BMW ITS/JP racecar, we used a product called Race Glaze Polish

If you have ever done any wheel to wheel SCCA or BMW Club Racing, you know you will come off with a ton of tar and rubber marks from the tire "marbles". This stuff not only shines the car, it removes the black marks with little to no effort.

A friend of mine at work said I should use one of those Mr Clean Magic Erase pen things. This weekend will be a test a fine cleaning products.

Oh and to add more hurt to my new MINI the back whiper doesn't work.
