Toe Hook Questions

I don't know if permanently mounting front and rer toe hooks is a mod but this seems like the best place to ask

Is it correct to permanently mount the toe hook (thread lock it in there)?

Now that one solved, What color to paint/powder coat it? Match the brake calipers?

Mount it in the front grille. The rear is where you mount the wing-up-key

I will have a tow hook front and back this winter. It will be a bad enough time if I need to get dragged out of a ditch, without having to put one in at - 40F

Anyone seen the swivel hook from Japan? That would look nice.

Here's mine. No paint on it. I need to put some teflon tape on it to adjust the position, but I'm in no hurry to do it

Here's mine.......

got out the old bit brace with a super sized bit and very carefully removed some aluminum so the shoulder of the tow hook would go further into the hole. Used leftover caliper paint and then lock-tite on the threads to discourage the casual thief.
Proper positioning is important for that authentic look, so keep it horizontal!

Awesome guys. I am thinking I may have to purchase a second one for the back. I love the look. I am leaning towards painting it the same color as brake calipers. Now to decide on color.

Most folks only do the front cuz putting it in the back kinda breaks up the flowing lines. But to each their own! It's your ride, so have at it.

Here's another view....
