restrict door opening

Is there a way to restrict/reduce how far the passenger door will open on my 05 MCS? If I could only reduce the amount it opened by just a bit, it would keep it from wacking the other car in my garage.

Perhaps the answer to your riddle lies in the question.

AldoS play nice. What he meant to say was NO. Easier than redesigning your door "thingy K-bob" just be carefull.

I say "sell the other car"

Don't want to sound like an *** but tell your passengers to not push the door that far open. If they need to then have them hold the door as they get out so it doesn't go flying into the other car.

My Fiance hates the doors on the MINI (loves the rest of the car) but she is still very careful to never hit anything with the door as she knows she would no longer be my Fiance then....

Griot's Garage (http://www.griotsgarage.com/index.jsp) sells the perfect solution for your problem. It is a garage ceiling mounted car door guard that comes down in between the 2 parked vehicles to prevent accidental door bangins. Give them a call.

How about a bungee cord...one end attached to one the seat adjustment levers and the other to the door cubby. I know, I know....just a wild idea...but it would restrict the seat?!?

...or hang a mattress down the middle of your garage???

The early classic mini has a fabric strap limiting the amount the door opens, but I don't see a clean way to mimic it on the new ones without removing the present one at body & attaching the other end behind the doorpanel distorting the door seal. C4's suggestion will help potty train your passenger

Thanks!

Thanks for all the great suggestions.

And, thanks for the kind words about my art work. All of my work is photography based, then digitally hand painted.

Along the lines of the Griots piece - find a foam swimming pool floating "noodle" and suspend that from the ceiling by 3 pieces of string/rope. MUCH cheaper and just as effective.
