Just thought I would post some pics of some of my recent mods. Here is the armrest santa brought me from mini mania. Very high quality, although I wish that when you slid the top forward for long distance driving it would click in place or stay in that position because it is very easy to push it closed if you shift your weight on your arm. Other than that, no complaints, anything beats not having an armrest (what were they thinking?)

Enjoy

Take a look at this thread on MCO and at the pointers in it.

Installation instructions from the manufacturer can be found here. -- it requires drilling 3 small (1/8&quot holes in the rear cupholder (plastic) -- takes about 10 minutes.

Remove the 3 screws to remove armrest. Takes 2 minutes. The holes don't show.

I tried one , but sent it back...kinda of cheesy design IMO, too short in reg position, you have to slide it out to work but it will not stay out, maybe mine was just too loose...the storage area is cool thought....seems like a no brainer for mini to have just had small arm rests attached to the seats and fold back and forth like on many german cars...the mini interior certainly put more effort into the style than substance, laugh!

Anybody try this "armrest" from Mini-Mania:

http://new.minimania.com/NewMiniSear...MiniDetail=Yes

At $159, appears steep considreing no compartment. However, maybe it's a better armrest.

You gotta be kidding, that is WAY too much for the product. !!

$159.00 I should start making them for half that price.

I think Moss Motors has the same arm rest for $119.00 which is compatible to buying from Mini Spares in England which they want $90.00 plus freight.
