I've had my '05 MCSC for three weeks, put Wet Okole seat covers on the first day. About 60% of the time the air bag warning light is staying illuminated when starting the car and the passenger air bag 'off' light stays on even when the passenger seat is unoccupied; it also happens when there is someone sat in the passenger seat.

I know that MINI no longer sells seat covers because of the air bags but I thought it was weight based in which case I don't see how the seat covers could interfere. Before I take the car to the dealer I'll probably experiment with taking the covers off, but does anyone out there have an '05 with seat covers that is having the same problem?

I have a 2006 Mini cooper hard top that is doing the same thing! Did you ever find out if it was a sensor or the seat covers?
