Took the liberty to install (phtoshop CS style of course) the CF hood scoop on this nice ride to see how the CF front splitter plus CF hood scoop looks, plus I painted the grill a little darker to even out the colors a tid bit!

I think the combo of CF scoop with and the new front splitter for the Aero Kit would be perfect.
Didn't think my soon to be wife would like it but after checking out the pic she loves it.

I just sent you a PM.

Seriously thinking of getting one of these for my (on the "Boat") MCS but I have 2 quick questions...

It's been confirmed (in this thread) that this will fit over the stock TMIC without modification, correct?

And, I ordered my MCS with the silver bonnet stripe. What color "Silver" does that make the scoop? (For matching purposes)

Thx

Great, thanks I wasn't "entirely" sure that the scoop itself was painted (vs. applied vinyl )

Got my unpainted glass scoop this morning via FedEx. It looks excellent, and about twice the intake size vs. the stock letter slot.

Here's a pic of the airdam I made up to replace the stock black piece and foam.

The black sheet is generic "dynamat", the foam is 1-1/4 x 1-1/4"" foam from the hardware store, and the clear stuff visible on the foam is silicone rubber to help block air flow through the foam. The gap at the bottom edge of the scoop should be blocked off by my diverter mod.

Yippee! Now to get the scoop painted LY...

Old Rick--why did you install a new seal? Is the new intake scoop inconsistent with the old stock seal? My scoop should arrive real soon and I will be running the stock IC. Back in early Jan when I ordered it, Peter assured me it was a 10minute swap for the OEM scoop.
cheers,
phil

I haven't tried to fit it, but I guess you could use the stock black plastic piece.

However, it takes up about 1/4" of the air plenum space above the IC, and does nothing useful besides holding the foam piece.

I figured I might as well match the height of the intake hole if possible, and this is a convenient place to damp the sheet metal hood somewhat.

I am sure this has been asked and I do apologize if this has been asked. What is the size difference in the opening of the scoops? How far does the bottom of the scoop go into the engine bay and meet with the intercooler?

My scoop is in for paint. It will be a week or so before I have a chance to install it. I expect that others will be getting a nice surprise from FedEx in the next day or two.

Howdy....

The CF has been slow out of the gate, but we wanted it to be perfect
with that said the fiberglass units has been shipping, and a lot of you
should have received them by now.
We also built a new mold, allowing us to speed up the delivery time for both
units.

And the first Carbon Fiber M7 Ram Air Scoop goes to...?

I can't take that distinction away from the rightful owner but, to be fair, we saw it before they did!

Congratulations kyriian!

Go Canada!
