My MINI has a moonroof and I am thinking about a checkered roof decal. MINI sells either a full-roof decal or a smaller decal that covers only the moonroof. Since the OEM checkered decal consists of individual squares, has anyone had the OEM squares installed at MINI only around the periphery of the moonroof so that the moonroof remains clear and the roof itself carries the pattern? Thanks for any input!

 

I did the moonroof and left the roof white. I think it looks better than the whole roof being checkerboard. If they use the dark glass as the black and just put on the white squares you can still see out.

 

Thanks for the photos. Your roof looks very cool that way I must say. Your photos really helped me envision what that would look like both inside looking out and on the outside. You are right that covering the whole roof is too much checkerboard. But, now I can't decide whether I want to decal the moonroof alone or just the roof edges around the moonroof leaving the moonroof all glass. hmmm.
