i'm thinking of getting a new S but i don't like the headlights or taillights as much as the ones on my '03 MC (non-xenon/wiper). i searched for headlight info but after a few pages didn't find what i was looking for.

has anyone with an '05 bought the older model headlights from a dealer and switched them? i've read here that people want to do the opposite (put '05 lights in their '04). i guess i should wait until i get the car then ask on here if anyone would want to trade, but i was just wondering if the dealer would be able to sell me pre-'05 headlights and taillights and reverse light, and what the price would be.

The dealer could sell you new headlights, but you'd be better off trading with someone - many people like the new ones (esp. xenon)

The tail lights are a different matter. Since the reverse light is in a different location, the pre-'05 aren't really compatible with the '05+. You might be able to do some custom wiring, but it definitely wouldn't happen at a dealer.
