Side molding of aero kit only?

I took delivery of my 05 MCS earlier this month.

I remember not ordering the Aero Kit, because it's not very descriptive on the Miniusa car builder. I went to a Mini meet this passed weekend, and saw the Aero kit up front, and was pretty impressed with the front, but much more impressed with the side moldings.

Is it possible to just order the sides? Where, how much? Better stuff from other companies? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't see any listed on that website. Only an option to ask for a quote if I provide them with all of my contact information.

Yes, you can get it all piece by piece...

But the factory painted pieces only come in red and yellow I'm told.

Your best bet would be Classic MINI in Ohio or the Web Fly Sterling parts counter where they do discount by email...

Dont see any problem in buying the side mold from outmotoring, get the paint # from the car and take it to the local paint shop too i've thought about doin that myself.

Also you might want to look into tinting the side reflectors a bit and the side signals. was lookin at you pics and thatd be pretty sweet on your car. Jus a thought.

Found it @ outmotoring.com.
http://outmotoring.com/factory_mini_...de_skirts.html

Guess I expected it to be a little bit cheaper for the bare moldings... I'm already dropping 1.6k in mods, and thats probably 1k more than my wife is happy with. Maybe later...

Didn't think about tinting the side reflectors. I'll look into that.

You can get ANY part pre-painted from the factory. The full factory kit comes prepainted in a few colors (not black), but you can get the skirts individually pre-painted black. I have them on my car. I ordered from Classic. Just fill out that form and tell them what you want. They'll e-mail you a quote.

Word of caution, pre-painted parts take a while to come in... and you are getting dangerously close to having a MINI that looks like mine

or you could go see your mini dealer

my current mini accessories catalog shows mini retail price of 245.00 each, available piece by piece. thats 490.00 for the pair unpainted. 6.00 less than outmotorings price.

i got a price quote from jayson at classic for all the pieces, sold individually or as a whole about 3 weeks ago...here they are:

  • side skirts pre-painted: $259.20ea + SHIPPING (RETAIL $324.00ea)- he also noted getting just the skirts (without the full body kit) usually takes longer than the avg 90 day wait time.
  • full body kit (front, back and side skirts *w/o* PDC (parking distance control), pre-painted: $1360 + shipping (RETAIL $1700)
Hope that helps!
