Possible stupid question inside...

Is the black on the roof and mirrors Jet Black or is it another shade of black?

My MCS is Indi Blue with black roof and mirrors. I recently bought some Jet Black grille bars and a boot handle on eBay. To my eye, the Jet Black pieces I bought do not look the same as the roof and mirrors. I suppose it could be due to different environmental aging and use of different paint care products and techniques.

ANy thoughts?

jet black cars have jet black mirrors and only other cars get the universal black colors.

just like the white roof isnt like pepper white, its a universal white color.

just go to autozine and get Universal Black duplicolor, its the same as youre roof and mirrors.

Well, I'm still trying to decide whether I like the look or not. Since they're already on the car, I'm not sure it's worth the effort to take them off again to repaint them. Plus, I've never really liked the look of small parts that were repainted a different color. The paint usually ends up looking thick to me.

As a side comment, did MINI really intend to use the most difficult means possible to attach the upper grille to the bonnet? There has to be a better way of mounting that part.

I was bidding on those pieces too you bast*rd! hahahaha.

Well, it's actually a blessing in disguise as I've already ordered a replacement part and some paint and am going to paint it myself.

Isn't the color code for the black roof 668?

I didn't look up the paint codes; I probably should have. The more I look at the black pieces, the more I like them. Besides, I can always change back and sell these on eBay again.
