Has anyone brought and install seat covers from diamond racing? Mine have just arrived without any installation instructions and I am having a hard time trying to figure out how to install them. The main problem is with the back and where they come together with the velco. On my 2003 MINI cooper, I have a kick plate at the bottom at the rear of the seats, which does not allow for the seat cover to come together with the velco. Could anyone give me their thoughts on the matter? I will appreciate any help.

Thanks

Are you talking about the hard plastic on the back of the front seats? Wouldn't the seat cover just go over this? Please explain more and we'll all see what we can do.

I was talking about under the seat not the back of the seat. There is a flap that extends under the seat and does not allow for the seat cover to come together at the bottom.

Hmmm...well having not seen the seat covers, it's hard to say.

Shoot Tracy an email and I'm sure he can set you straight:

I, too, am curious how the seat covers affect the airbags. The MINIUSA website states specifically that they are tailored to work with the airbags.

It would be great to have seat cover options besides from the dealer (and more choices in styles).

They have holes on the sides that contain airbags.

Hello Gas2Hi,

With these seat covers you would really have no use for the heated seats.
These covers in the summer are cool and in the winter time are warm. You would still be able to use the heated seat option. But, it would not be needed.

We have two Minis’ neither have heated seated seats. We have sold allot of these covers. Maybe if you keep asking on the boards you may find some one who has ordered our covers and have heated seats.

Tracy

I have also bought the seat covers from Diamond Racing and have the very same install problems. They called me back in response to my e-mail but Cy couldn't help me much on the phone. He said that they would have a "How To" up on their web site in a "few" days.

Has anyone sucessfully installed the seat back covers? What do you do with the "kick plate" or "change catcher" (I have some other choice names for it) at the bottom rear of the seats? I am about to the point of taking a sharp knife to it!

I've read somewhere that the entire plastic back comes apart from the seat, so I'm not sure about that kickplate at the base. When you purchase the MINI seatcovers from the accessories catalog you get instructions on how to take the seats apart.
