Protector for Rear??

I am getting scratches on the top of the rear bumper. Does anyone make a protecter that goes over the edge? I have seen the stainless that mount below the hatch but they dont extend over the edge. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,Bill

Some folks have used the 'clear bra' material to protect their bumpers.

In the Build Your Own section of MINIUSA they show a rubber strip that is glued to the top of the back bumper. It's on the Protection tab, all the way to the right when the thumbnails come up. They call it Bumper Protection and it costs $40. Hope that helps. pb

This is the approach I took. So far, so good.

Unfortunately the scratches are already there. I need to cover them.

Depending on how severe they are, you may be able to polish them away with some success, then go with clear bra. Search the Detailing forum.

If not, you may not object to the look of the MINI accessory for protecting the rear bumper.

Hope this helps.

Where did you get it? Is it the whole bumper or just the indent by the boot?

It's just the indent by the boot and maybe an inch below. It's intended to protect the bumper from small cargo loading/unloading incidents only.

It's a hand-cut piece of 3M film installed by my UltraShield rep.

Mini Rear Bumper Protector

I like the Mini black rear bumper protector. I guess it depends on the car color. Mine is all red and black so it fits in well.
