M7 Hood Scoop Installed

During my time at Peter's place, we also painted and installed my sexy new m7 extreme hood scoop. For all of you who say "it doesnt match the lines of the car" or "it looks out of place", why dont you talk to the 30+ mini owners I have seen in the last 2 days and ask how many of them even noticed it. The thing looks excellent on the car, and believe it or not the temps did see a bit of a drop... it was a little hard to gauge accurately though because I couldnt stop blipping the throttle cuz of the AGS sound

Anyway, here is what it looks like on my car. Thanks to GoldCountryMINI for the great picture.

Oh and, pay no mind to all the bugs on the bumper.... I had a nice weekend of bug genocide SF Bay area, to LA, back to bay area, and then out to the Sacramento area and back So cut me some slack on the bugs alright?

It looks nice. However, I (and I think most of the detractors) have an issue with the profile of the scoop from this angle:

Many things grow on me over time; maybe this will too.

I wouldn't worry about that shot from the side unless your only 2 1/2 ft tall.

Saw it on Jason's car yesterday and I'm almost ready to order myself one soon.

Stupid question...

As long as we are discussing scoops, does anyone know what size the flanged nuts are that hold on the stock scoop. Nothing from the hardware store seemed to fit (not to mention finding a flanged nut was difficult). It's as if it's inbetween sizes or something. (Don't ask - I had removed my scoop when my stripes were installed and I guess one wasn't tight - since it's now missing).

Steve

J,

What finish is the scoop? It looks like a flat trim black but I can't tell. I am waiting for my AGS to arrrive this week and then I am going to order the scoop and thought about painting it trim black (a flat) to match my new front grill.

Looks great Jcampos

Have you ever thought about maybe putting some Cooper side grills in to black out that area? I think it would look hot

And to the photographer....well done

How does that compare to MiniMania's Venturi Scoop (Here)? Does anyone have pictures of the MM to compare?

I think one of the big differences is that the M7 scoop is one full piece. The MM looks like its a taped on piece which isnt mold in.

I am actually starting to like it more and more. I need to see one installed. The pic that shows the profile is actually such a good shot that the scoop is exagerated and probably looks much more pronounced than it will in person.

Who has one in Los Angeles ( installed ) anyone going to steves sunday that has one?

Detlman, I am almost sure (89.9%) I will be going to Steve's on Sun. My MINI is the EB/W that Peter (M7) use for the pics. I will see you there.

Don't hold this against me, but I feel the M7 make the car look like the Jimmy Durante of Minis.... I like the Venturi more, but would like it as a one piece replacement that can be painted to match... I am not a fan of the CF look, and if it is only a flexible plastic I don;t want it to droop in a year or so.... my big concern as well is wind noise... since 80 MPH is a little slow for me

No noticable noise at 120mph .
