I was just wondering if anyone has tried to put an all white decal on their sunroof to make their white roof look more uniform than it does with a big black square in the middle of it. Any thoughts?

It'd still look off, unless you used non-perforated vinyl. But then you wouldn't be able to see out of the roof.

Ah the simple joys of black.

Haven't done it myself, but I think it'd work out alright. I saw a solid black and white checkerboard decal over a sunroof and you could still see just fine through it from the inside. particularly through the white squares. The only problem is there would be an unavoidable black "frame" around and through the middle of the decal because of the black velvet strip that lines the sunroof. So it wouldn't look exactly like an all-white roof, but it would be close.

Doesn't the checkerboard decal manage to cover up the velvet perimeter?

It actually doesn't, at least not the one that I saw. But it doesn't really matter with the checkerboard because the pattern dominates and you just don't notice the outline of the sunroof or the velvet strip. I thought it looked quite sharp.

In about a month we will have perforated covers just for the sunroof available for sale. Our initial plans are to offer them in solid black or white with designs to follow shortly after. On a white roof you would still have the felt outline of the sunroof showing, but the roof will look much "cleaner" from a short distance away. No price has been set for this product yet.
