Need your opinion

OK, NAM, I need your opinion - what is the best seat cover for the money. Not - what is the best seat cover. Not - what is the cheapest seat cover. What is the best seat cover for the money?

Thanks!

Hi,

What material are your seats made of if leather you might look for something with an inside that in time will not scuff your seat. Something to think about when making a decision. Good luck !

Why do you need a cover? Leatherette is bullet proof.

I'm the best seat cover at any price.

Just drop the MINI off in my drive and I'll take it from there.

Now that I am done being a smart *** , I did think about your question.

I really don't know which is are best, but would consider the MINI covers only because they would be designed to function with the air bags.

Not sure if after market cover would hinder deployment! Don't know, just something to think about.

Hope you find something.

I just knew I could count on you guys!

With autocrossing - doing tech inspections, changing tires, ******** cones in the Florida heat, I tend to get a little sweaty and dirty. Then on Monday I'm back to wearing slacks and dress shirts. I was looking for a cover I could wash, but that was durable and stylish (like me).

Turbogeo, what did you get? And why don't you liket it?

Hammer, what do you think of these? They don't fit over the entire seat, but they look really good. And to clean them, you just take them off and wash them in the washing machine. Hmm....maybe I'll look into them myself.

While we're on the subject...

Does anyone know of any airbag friendly seat covers that would go well with the black/cordoba beige interior?

Edit: The SeatGloves above would be about perfect, but the site claims that they're not airbag friendly.

Wet Okole Seat Covers

I've had these on almost every car I have owned over the past decade. They fit like a glove and they are super comfortable.

My Mini came with leather and I wish it would have come with leatherette. I hear leatherette wears better. My leather shows wear after a year .

Those wet okoles are very nice, but very pricey. How easy are they to put on and take off (since I'll be removing them on a fairly regular basis)?

Yes, I read that, but they also list the MINI on their site for the SeatGloves. Are there different areas on car seats where airbags are located? Because I think the MINI seat airbags are on the side and the SeatGloves don't cover the sides...or do they? I wish someone who knows could clear this up because I would also like to buy them. Anyone?

OK, then I'll help you - Seat Glove tells you they are not for seats with airbags, but if you want to buy them anyway, they will sell them to you.

Has anyone purchased these covers? Are they worth the price?

How about just a couple of towels? They look crappy but work well.

For that matter, stretch a large t-shirt over the seatback on the days you're sweating and take it off when you get home. Wash with the normal laundry.

FWIW, I did that with my Jeep for many years and it works just fine.

Best seat cover might be the Wet Okoles, but I had fading and fabric breakdown problems with them in my open top Jeep. That's when I switched to the t-shirts.
