Door Panel Removal In 05 Mc

has anyone removed their 05 door panels yet? i cant get the longer arm rest to move so i can get to the last bolt.....


is there some kinda trick to this?

If you lift out on the edge of the armrest toward the front of the car there is a little tab that you can see that will release the pad. Put some tape on a flat head screwdriver so you don't mark anything up, stick it between the armrest and the handle it is attached to and pull away from the door on that tab then pull the armrest toward the front of the car.

The pad essentially slides on a track and the tab keeps it from moving. To put the pad back on, press it against the handle so it is flush (a couple inches forward of it's seated position) and, while maintaining pressure against the pad, slide it back until it locks in place.
