Philips or Osram?

Hello, I had Philips Vision Plus bulbs (I have nonxenon headlights) for a year now and the passenger side bulb is out. I replaced it with the oem bulb and could really see the real difference now. I was very happy with the Vision Plus, however I am somewhat disappointed due to the bulb's life. Anyhow, I want to try something new and just need suggestions if I should get Osram Silver Star or cool blue or renew the philips instead. Many thanks in advanced.

Its not well known, but the Osram bulbs you see over on powerbulbs are actually the exact same as the popular US brand Sylvania.

Let us know how it goes

What about Sylvania Silver stars? I had them in my car before my HID conversion and they were a big improvement over the OEM bulbs.

Same difference. Osram silverstars=sylvania silver starts. They are pretty yellow considering they advertise as being the "whitest" on the market

True, but just like with he HID discussion depending on the color use will either get or loose light.

Actually not true at all, as Daniel Stern says here.

To quote him:
Sylvania also sells a line of automotive bulbs they call "SilverStar", but it's not the same product at all. These bulbs have a blue coating on them. Light output is of legal levels, but as with all blue-filtered bulbs, you do not get more light from them.

Osram bulbs

I recently replaced the bulbs in my car with the Osram SilverStar bulbs that I received from Powerbulbs.co.uk. I will be getting them for my wife's Cooper.

I do agree with what Daniel Stern says.
