EURO Shelf installation. HELP!

All the posts I've read say what a cinch it is to install. I did not find it so. The hardest part was getting the clips on the back edge of the tray to snap over the flange in the car. Some instructions said to snap those first and then pivot the tray into place. Can't pivot the tray as there are two flanges that stick out on the sidesof the car (outside and steering wheel side) that have to fit into the bottom horizontal U shaped section of the tray. After two hours of fiddling with it my son suggested that we file the edge of the flange on the outside to a 45 degree angle which would allow the clips to push over the edge and into place. That worked, with some force applied.

Now the difficulty is lining up the holes in the blue clips with the mounting holes in the top of the tray. I'm using an awl but the angle seems all wrong. Got dark so I'll try again tomorrow.

Installing the extra power socket and aux input jack were a breeze.

Something is wrong

The shelf should slide right on. Sometimes it takes a bit of fiddling to get it lined up but it will slip on without any filing. Lining up the holes over the blue clips is a bit difficult but using an awl is a good approach.

Glad to hear that the power socket install went fine. One thing though that I forgot to mention is that if you use the cigarette lighter fuse for the add-a-circuit adapter, the power to the added power socket will be constant. (ie. the outlet will have power even if the ignition is off) The cigarette lighter won't have constant power though, which is odd. For some odd reason, the cig lighter has power to it cut with the ignition off from a place other than the fuse box.

If you want the added power socket to have switched power, you can use the fuse socket for the reading lights.

As for the shelf, the best thing to do is to just wait for morning! Even with taking mine on and off a half dozen times, sometimes it just slides on, and other times I have to wrestle it for an hour!

Good luck!

Something is wrong. I am not very handy and I did it in less than 30 minutes. I used these instructions.

The biggest problem I had was when I realized that my aftermarket alarm wiring was in the way. Once I realized that, it just slid right on.

Thanks, I saw those, along with others, these are nice illustrations but my tabs did NOT snap in easily as is inferred from these instructions and the holes do NOT line up easily.

Got it finished today. One tip that I have NOT seen but worked for me, was to remove the blue slip on "nuts" and thread them with the screws and then replace them . It takes a lot of force to screw into the nuts and that was hard to do with the nuts in place and trying to find and line up the holes.
