Interior/Exterior Aux input in toggle panel
Question in Same Area
Don't know the answer, but I have one that goes with it.
I have the iPod adapter and love it. However, it would be nice to have an AUX input to. I have the HK audio. Is it posible to have both or is it strickly one or the other?
Thanks/Saludos

I'd suggest somehere more discreet. I've got mine in th eside of the euro parcel shelf. You could also do it easily just under and behind the toggle panel. If you really want it on the toggle panel, you can access it by removing the screws in the two forward cup holders and the two screws accessed by gentle removing the mirror contol cap with a knife blade (don't loose the little spring clips that hold the mirror control cap in!) Once the cap is off, you'll see the screws below. Once the cupholder/shifter surround is free, you can wiggle the pillars loose to access the torx holding the toggle panel. Once you have that out, you can see the clips that hold it together.

You'll have to remove the toggle panel out of the car, then carefully remove the tabs that hold the toggle faceplate to the panel, then slowly drill a hole into the empty slot. I started with a tiny bit, slowly working my way to a larger bit. I think I used 4-6 bits before I was done. Also, drill very slow and straight. I drilled from the back out, then carefully sanded down so the hole was smooth; test fitting alone each way to get the proper hole for the AUX port.
I also had to make a notch to the top of the toggle faceplate so the AUX wire had somewhere to go; running it upwards, along the panel component (it gets squeezed when you mount the toggle panel back on the car since there's not much gap), then around back and up to the back of the headunit.
I think it took me 45minutes to get the AUX mounted onto the faceplate plus time to put the car back together... I rather go slow then mess up.
