S Wing

I Have An 2004 Mini Cooper S ,with The Stock Spoiler, I Like The Look Of It With No Spoiler, Is It Hard To Get Off?, Does It Actually Help Downforce? And How Is It Held On? Does It Help Downforce Or Handleing?
Can I Have Some Pics With It Off? Thanks Abunch

It's not hard to remove but it is a bit of work. There are two nuts that needs to be removed and then the adhesive needs to be "cut" with a 30# or greater fishing line. Then you need to remove the residue with 3M's adhesive remover or benzine prior to mounting the new wing. See my thread near the end. I removed the S wing and installed a CF Aero wing. Problem is that you want it left off but there are now two holes in the sheet metal

I had my S spoiler removed and the aero kit spoiler installed (see the post stuck to the top of this forum about the different spoiler types).

The S spoiler is held on with double-backed tape and two threaded studs. The nuts for those studs are accessible when you open the hatch by removing the outer black plastic caps from the inside of the upper part of the hatch lid.

Once the S Spoiler is removed there will be two holes in your hatch lid that would need to be plugged and painted if you wanted to go bare. In my case the aero kit spoiler covered those holes up when it got bonded on to the top edge of the hatch.
