Hello and happy weekend all,

A couple of weeks ago I installed the genuine MINI Euro JCW wheel arches. After receiving a few questions from local MINI owners I thought I’d write a post about them

: Purchased from SMPS2012
- Each wheel arch is shipped in its own BMW/MINI envelope with the clips pre-installed

https://www.smps2012.com/product-pag...rches-x4-piece

: Removal is straightforward and the only tool required is a trim removal tool if a clip remains in a body panel

: Installation time is about 5-10 minutes per arch
- It took a little longer because I cleaned and protected the paint under each arch before installation

: Existing side marker wiring
- I cut the fingers off of a powder free nitrile glove, placed the side marker connectors in each finger and zip tied each one (to keep clean from debris and liquid)
- Front connectors were ran into the engine bay
- Rear connectors were ran further upwards behind the wheel liners

*fun fact: MINI OEM zip ties were used

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...131367599~oem/

: Warnings in iDrive system after installation?
- No warnings seen under Notifications or when scanned with the Foxwell NT710

: BimmerCode to disable each side marker connector after verifying no warnings
- Body Controller > Expert Mode

Front:
3063 LCELampMapping2 changes
> Mapping_SideMarker_L_output: sml_l to Off
> Mapping_SideMarker_R_output: sml_r to Off

Rear:
3065 LCELampMapping4
> Mapping_Universal_1_output: sl_2_l to Off
> Mapping_Universal_2_output: sl_2_r to Off

: Protection
- AMMO Frame Pro Trim Coat was applied to keep them protected from sun damage/fading

https://ammonyc.com/collections/exte...-pro-trim-coat

: New York State Inspection?
- Good news, side markers are not inspected

: Pictures

I love these arches, the MINI looks so much better/cleaner without the markers

Have a great weekend and motor on -Rich

*sneak peek, if you noticed the DRL color... another post to come

Nice, we also carry the euro wheel arches, pretty much on the only place that has them in the USA. I have the gloss black version (ECS exclusive) of the euro wheel arches on my R58 JCW.

Thank you. I had originally placed the order for them on your site, however the shipping was delayed multiple times and it was approaching a one year wait from the order date. The company I purchased from has them in-stock and I received them within three days of placing the order.

Have a great day and by the way I like your new Lifetime Replacement Program -Rich

Sorry about that, yep the supplier changed as their were delays with the previous. We have a new supplier now so hopefully it will not be delayed now.

Yep we have that now also. We will be working on some more Bremmen Parts which some no one has as we work with the suppliers. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-bremmen-parts/v-mini/

Those arches do change the looks and make it look clean.

By any chance are they slightly wider than the USA arches? (esp the JCW arches.)

I wish mine were just a tad wider, but no one seems to make such a retrofit. You have to go at least 25mm further out, which IMO is too much, aesthetically.

Just the JCW factory ones in euro and USA version.

No one makes any other then clinched which is universal.

Quote: As a MINI enthusiast, I found your post on installing JCW wheel arches very informative. The step-by-step instructions, especially when it comes to wiring the side markers, were clear and helpful. Your advice on avoiding iDrive warnings and protecting the arches with AMMO Frame Pro Trim Coat is spot on. It's great to see the aesthetic and functional upgrades you've made to your MINI. Looking forward to your next DRL color post!
Hi @Dorthy4, thank you so much and it means a lot to me 😃
- I have to post the IND Motorsport+ LED module installation thread soon. Most of the pictures taken were corrupt due to a beta version of iOS.

However, I will be posting other pictures that were taken after and info about the tools used!

Again, thank you so much and motor on -Rich

Hello,

We never brought them in for cars with PDC as they were not as popular. They would also take a while to get in by boat and other euro parts we order.

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...an-mini-parts/

MINI also just NLA'd some of the factory front factory PDC ones for US cars, so guess what's next for euro versions.

What you have to do if cut and mount the sensors from the old archers into the NON PDC ones.

As you can see BMW have been removing the pre cut ones across the board and you have to cut and mount.

Their is a factory tool but it was $$$$ if i can dig and find it. But it does not make sense to buy.

Here is the universal tool , you have to match up to the factory part and then remove the section of the mount from the old part to the new one and use either thin double sided 3m tape or glue it.

DIY with like tool.

Lowered R53s definitely put extra stress on the wheel arch clips, so you’re not alone. Many owners end up replacing the mounting clips or using stronger fasteners to prevent popping. Checking alignment and suspension travel helps too. Keeping vehicles road ready matters, just like the attention to maintenance and reliability you see with Wood Black Car Service fleets.
