I got in an accident last week and need a new hood.

I was wondering what the price of the stock hood is?

Would it be worth it to replace the stock hood w/ a carbon fiber hood? Especially if I can get insurance to pay for most of it...

I really like the look of Carbon fiber and I was planning on getting one eventually and it looks like now is the best time to do it

 

I only needed to repaint mine due to rocks flying out of a truck and sand blasting my car...anywho...

it was cheaper to replace the hood with the CF than just to sand and repaint the old one...

I.E. in your case you should be good to go $ money wise

yeah VIS find them alot on ebay

as I have posted in the past...they are all a little finiky...if you have a shop you can trust and or are related to....GO WITH THEM!! or...drive out here to AZ and bring your car to my friends shop where we do all the minis....LOL...and other cars too..but the owner is a mini owner so it's like family!!...LOL

just do a search on ebay for mini cooper carbon...just be carful...there is alot of carbon stuff...you will pre-spend lots....LOL

 

ViS hoods require pins. So if you dont mind that, go with ViS as they are higher quality than the M7... however, the M7 hood is nice because it retains all of the stock usability.
