I'm considering grabbing one of AiM's MX series dash/logger combos and wondering if anyone else here is running one in their Mini and how they like the setup/fitment. At the moment I'm leanings towards the MXP for the OE style warning and signal lights but the MXS seems like it'll fit the small form of the Mini the best. I threw the template for each model where the stock tack gauge is and the MXG and MXP are both partially behind the tiny steering wheel. The MXS is the only that was completely visible, while the MXP looks like I'd lose part of the bezel and possibly the shift lights behind the steering wheel.
I was also considering this. They have ones that plug directly into the obd port but won’t log data. If you end up pulling the trigger on one, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Yes..If you trigger the AIM let us know with some pictures as well..Is something that i like too..
Maybe the F56 GP + F56 Electric new dashboard would be better If its possible to re-program it.:D
For anyone else curious about the fitment of these in the R56, here's a shot with the template for the MXS-5", MXP-6" and MXG-7" dashes from my driving position. I put the phone up to my face to get the camera lens as close to my eye position as I could while in an appropriate driving position.
MXS - looks like I'm a bit off on position on this one and will need to re-shoot
Aim has a premium, I went with racecapture +shiftx and a raspberry pi display on my track car. I needed to blend analog inputs (brake, boost, afr wideband) with canbus and obd2 data sources, the racecapture platform enables that. OBD2 data on mini's is too slow to be useful
Any android or Pi display can be adapted to the racecapture, however the form factor is going to be rectangular

That's a good catch I hadn't see RaceCapture's stuff yet. I'll definitely take a look.
