Inherent Diminshed Value following collision Repair

Does anyone have experiece working with insurance companies collecting on inherent dimished value-loss of market value- of the MCS following collision repairs?

My MINI got wacked in the back inside of a tire shop waiting for new Kumhos. The insurance company has not been too cooperative so far. Went without the MINI for 40 days.

I am currently waiting for their contract appraiser to do an after repair IDV appraisal. I sure the insurance company will try to low ball the market value loss.

Any help from Mini owners that have collected would be helpful.

Thanks.

Mine went pretty much as you described. The repairs were totally completed, then somebody came by to appraise the car for diminished value. (I, by coincidence, had had the car appraised for trade-in value by my MINI dealer as I was toying with the idea of trading it in, so I knew up front what they thought my MINI was worth, even though it had been in a collision.) Anyway, the appraiser finished and left to report in to the insurance company. An insurance company rep called the next day and offered me a dollar amount as compensation. I coulda haggled, but it was a dollar amount I was comfortable with. Got a check in the mail in a few days.
