How do you remove the speedo surround. Going to repaint the surround.

 

Speedometer is easy, loosen the two screws on the top and use a plastic pry tool, it’ll pop off. There’s one pressure tab on the bottom, rest is lightly hot glued from factory.

 

The only two screws I see are those on the back panel the speedo is attached to. They are attached to the top of the dash. I unscrewed those and gingerly pried the back panel but I can’t seem to see how that will release. Is it that back panel that is supposed to release and come off with the speedo? I pulled off the dash dimmer and flasher surrounds.
