Which stripes look best?

What stripes would look best on a hyper blue / black roof / chrome line ext., mcs? I was thinking of black or ghost vipers, any suggestions? Anyone think I should not get any stripes? Thanks.

I personally have the frost center racing stripe in my MINI and absolutely love them...... it's just so damn subtle that it actually gives off a sort of greyish stripe and might not be as "BAM!" as your looking for.......

One of the front.......

And one of the boot.......

Like I said......you can probably see the frost sparkle in the first pic and get the "greyish" effect in the boot picture.....my only complaint is that I wanted the center stripe fatter.......

I like none. There are lots of curves on the Mini, and it's a small car. I fear getting it to look to busy. But my neighbor has stripes on his (stock, black on chili red with chili red roof).

Mine is Chili Red/White and I think it looks much more cool. But that's just me.....

McCullster, those stripes look great! I think u just changed my mind with these photos, will they look as good even if I have a black roof? Thanks for the photos. Oh are they from Cooper Flags and did u install them? Was the MINI emblem removed for install, any problem doing this? Thanks.

I think that center stripe looks great!

I have the factory bonnet stripe in black with the white outline. It looks
pretty good, I like it..but not too original.

well, I don't see too many IB/Blk MCS around here so that color scheme
alone is pretty original, i guess.

I think that a MC/MCS needs contrasting roof and mirrors. And untill I ran into the Indy MC club
at their November rally, I thought all MC/MCS needed bonnet stripes. But darn near every
one had the bonnet stripes. Almost too common for a un-common car!

Then I found Mighty Stripes. Their offset bonnet stripe is what I want to put on my MC.
Throw in a boot stripe and you have a lot more personality to a car that already
has more personality than its size!

Then maybe a magnetic circular number plate...

Thank you all for the kind stripe words......to answer a few questions that had been asked......

The stripes are the 14 inch wide center racing stripe in Frost with a 3/4 inch side stripe.......

Stripes were purchased from MightyStripes.com

The front and back MINI emblem were removed to get the ultra look.....also the back chrome hatch opener was removed as well as the plastic inside boot door trim.

First. Remove your license plate
Second. There are 4 #25 torx screws holding the chrome piece to the body.
There is also a wiring plug that goes up into the body to connect the boot latch and rear license plate light.

Third. Now you can open the boot and unplug the light and latch (MAKE SURE YOU ALREADY HAVE THE BOOT OPEN!!!!!) I have an 02 and didn't have the manual pull ring from what I could tell.......so I left the boot open for the install.......

Fourth. If you feel you have enough room after the install to plug that connector back in.......go for it......I could never get enough force to plug the male end back into the female end up inside the body.

Fifth. I also removed the 8 Phillips head screws in the boot hatch lid to gain access to plug the latch and license plate light back in. All you do is undo the 8 screws and pull down on one side, then work your way around.....all that is up there holding it in is about 5 or 6 plug anchors that come loose as you pull down (sort of like the connectors that go underneath the drivers footwell)

Sixth. Get some sweet *** stripes installed and put things back the way you took it apart........

As far as the emblems go........I used a piece of strong dental floss to work around them emblem (both sides of the wings) as there is two guiding pins to make sure the emblem is level. Then pryied up the dental floss and stuck a credit card underneath and then pryed up with a small flatblade screwdriver.

After the install was complete I cleaned off the old sticky residue with Goo Gone and nubby fingernails....then went to O'Reilly's and got some 5/8 inch thick by 60 inch 1.99 double sticky sided tape......its not 3M but it is black tape with a green outerlayer of film on it......then layed and cut about 6 small pieces of tape all over the emblem and placed on top of the new graphic.

As for if the Frost will look good on black? I couldn't tell you until I see it.....frost is one of those transparent stripes that go on clear and are sort of grey all the way through. Its grey when you look at it from afar but up close you can see through it to the blue.......so I think it would stand out even more on the roof in black.....it would be sort of a grey/black theme and would totally set off the black IMO.......

I have seen a DS Cooper S with frost stripes and it was more subtle than my car......just because the greyness didn't shine through as much......hope this sort of helps?

Sorry for the long post.......but when I can help out a fellow motorer I sometimes go overboard.......thanks for the kind words and good luck, please post pics of the finished product.......

Free Sample of Frost Material

Well I have always been a fan of contrasting the bonnet with the roof color and vice versa. To be honest, the stripes I made for Justin's MINI pictured above ephasize how well my frosted material works with many paint colors...let me know your thoughts and give me your address, I'll mail you a sample of the material.
