Need ideas to prevent seat scuffing

Has anyone come up with a way to prevent scuffing of the plastic seatback from the shoes of a 5 year old? Mine is just the right size that he cannot help but have the soles of his feet scrape the seatback. I am looking for a means of protecting the plastic until he grows a little taller and his feet reach downward
All I can think of is to velcro some type of cover over the back.
Anyone with a better idea??

I make my kids (14 & 9) take their shoes off upon entering the car. NO, I am not kidding. My 9 YO is kinda short, so his feet don't quite yet point downward nor can he sit still. My 14 YO wears shoes with buckles and loves to sit with her feet under her butt, so rather than risk nasty tears in the leather, it's easier just to make'em both take their shoes off. I'd make my wife do it to if I thought I could get away with it, and I'd do it myself but I need'em on to drive

Shoes off is a great idea or-

Do as bowlers and surgeons do-
Wear shoe covers!
Available at bowling and surgery Pro shops.

Prevention is always better than cleaning up the mess.

If you ordered your car with the optional roof rack, make a show of stowing a set of bungee cords in the boot, and tell the kids you'll strap'em to the rack if they keep kicking the seatbacks.

On second thought, maybe not. My nephews would take that as an invitation to try roof-surfing.

Actually, that has been my current solution. Especially after I pick him up at school, and his shoes are all muddy. My wife thinks I'm crazy, so be it. But, I was trying to find a less labor intensive way. One of the reasons I got the MINI seat covers is because I hoped they would cover the hard plastic of the seat- they don't

Wet Okole neoprene seat covers - cover the backs of the seat, are water and dirt proof. Kid proof.

Didn't they update the seat back plastic for 04? Ours is an 04, and our 2 kids are constantly licking the backs of the seat with no damage that I've noticed. Maybe you could replace your seat plastic with an updated part.

You guys are too much .... I felt the same way when I first got my car, any little imperfection would bother me...but after a few years the scufffs and scrapes are just part of the normal wear and tear and I've accepted it. Don't get me wrong I keep the car clean and neat, I just enjoy the car for what it is.
