Saw stripes just like these on a used MCS at Niello MINI in Sacramento. No one at the dealer knew where they came from. I think they'd look really cool on the MINI I'm about to order. Very subtle. Anyone know where you can get 'em? TIA-

They sell by the roll at your local Pep Boys or Kragen Auto Parts.

They even have them at wal-mart, lots of different colors and designs....only like $5 or something cheap....do you have a full vehicle pic of that car?

If you are gonna install these and want to keep them for a long time, be aware that you should remove the wax from your car in the areas that its gonna be installed. And then reapply wax once they are

Wal-Mart - really! With the "MINI" wreath and everything? I didn't realize the MINI was so mainstream. Very cool.

Sorry - don't have other pics. I was using search engines for "mini cooper" and "pinstripes" and stumbled across these. I didn't bookmark the page and now I can't remember where it was.

Thanks for the tip - I was wondering about that! What's the best way to remove wax?

Sorry, i think i mistyped that....youcan only get the striping from walmart....you can get the laurel (wreath thingy) on lots of mini sites...just search google for it

In terms of getting the wax off....a bath with dawn should do the trick....although you may want to ask a vinyl expert about it, they should know

I used to lay on pinstriping at dealers in the bay area, years ago. We had a wax cleaner that stripped the wax in just the area you wanted the stripe to go. Then we applied an adhesive promoter, that really got the striping to stick and stay. When the stripes are down where you want them, use a small spatula to press them down and then wax the area. I never had a job come back. You can get everything from an auto paint supply house. Beware of cheap tape because it's real thin and breaks easily or the adhesive is weak. Tape is cheap, get the good stuff. Good luck. Be creative.

A friend of mine has that same stripe/MINI logo and he bought his car in FL and drove it out to CA. I called back there and no one I could get on the phone could help me. I wanted to buy a set and could not find them.

If you find them pm me and let me know where you got them.

I could be wrong, but I don't think so. The ones in the photos above look exactly like ones I saw at my local dealer, and I saw a description somewhere from someone else that sounded exactly like these, too. (IE, two narrow stripes with a break just above the fender split, with a MINI wreath about 1-1/2 inches wide.)

I saw them (the MINI wings) on a car that was purchased from the Palm Beach MINI Dealership, back in late 02.

If you havent' already, talk to the sales folks they might have a better idea of who they use for this type of thing. Plus easier to explain then talking with the Service Advisor, who might be a little busy.

P.S. If you find a source, how about adding me to the list of interested people? Thanks

A good graphic artist should be able to scan the Mini logo and make a vinyl one for pretty cheap.

Here is a few links for the stripes:
http://www.stewartdesign.biz/default.php/cPath/97

http://www.stripeman.com/Merchant2/m...n-Stripe+Rolls

If you "Click to Enlarge" they show you the color range.

I was thinking about these too.

i bought mine (autozone for around $4) and installed them (took about half an hour)....still waiting for the laurel decals....

Dont know if im keeping them or not...gonna give it a few months...might be too busy for the rather clean look of my car

the pic kind of blurs them together. It is a double stripe although, i opted to have one line be a bit bigger then the other.

Hey, thanks to everyone who has posted - but I'm not looking for just the double stripes - I can get those at the auto parts store down the street. I'm looking specifically for the MINI wreath. (These stripes also joined together at both ends - a nice touch.) I've seen at least 4 cars with these, so I don't think they're a one-off custom kind of thing...

Thanks for the tip about Braman MINI. I'll check it out.

oh....you are just looking for the laurel? You can get those at new.minimania.com

in terms of the wings...some ebay people sell them...and they may in fact be custom

and in terms of them being joined at the end, i did the same thing. I thought it completed the look a bit better

I must say that the stripes that are in the pic do look ok, but NOTHING beats having an artist stripe your car! I will have mine done in the next week or so. The same artist has done ALL the cars in my family and they all have looked great. I say have it done and get a badge put on. I will post pics as soon as it is done.

imho pinstripes make the side of the car too busy. but that's just my opinion.

i kinda like my car simple with very subtle accents. the car itself has
dramatic lines so...

I felt the same way....took the pinstripes off after a few weeks. Much better with clean sides
