Chicago area Mini owners....suggestions

Does anyone in the Chicago area know of any reputable bodyshops/detailers that can lay down some high quality vinyl on my Mini? I have a Dark Silver MCS and would like to have an offset racing stripe. I could do it myself, but this is one of those things I would rather pay someone to do.

Thanks!

well, Im not sure if you got your car from Patrick MINI or Bill JAcobs Mini, but my MA Racheal L. at bill jacobs referred me to a guy she knows who does this sort of thing for MINI and BMW. He offered to do my stripes but I ended up doing them myself. You can either call racheal directly at 630-718-2838 or you can PM me tomorrow and I should have the number for you. if you do call Racheal at bill jacobs MINI, tell her that Konrad told you to call her and get the number for the guy she knows who does stripes. hope this helps!

and where in chicago are you located? Im in Downers Grove

Thanks for the info. I will look into it. What color stripe(s) did you go with? How difficult was it to place the sripes? Seems like it would be pretty easy to incorporate bubbles into the decal. Thanks again. Oh, I live in the Lincoln Park area.

I'd give it a try before paying someone to do it - it's really not that difficult. The important part is finding the right solid-colored vinyl. I started with black bonnet stripes on my PW/B MINI and added the red lines after installing my badge holder (I liked the red on the flag!).

Applying the stripes is easy with a spray bottle of soapy water, a rubber squeegy (sp?), a sharp razor blade and a little patience. You'll feel better after having done it yourself!
