I waiting on a F55, I guess it's called, which is somewhere near Halifax at the moment.
Is is possible to add seat heat? I'm under the impression that the heating elements might already be there. In that case, would only cabling, switches and programming be required?
How does one know if the elements are installed?
Has anyone done this?
The VIN decoder says this:
S823 Hot-climate version
S842 Cold-climate version
Thanks for any tips.

Reason: It's F55 not R55, duh.
I am not certain if Mini can add it to reflect an OEM appearance, but I know that most decent custom shops can add seat warmers. I had it done in a previous vehicle and it worked better than the factory set up.
I did my own in a VW Beetle, but I was wondering that if the heating elements are already there, what would it take to make the work in a stock kind of way.

Certainly is a possibility. XM radio, fog lights are installed in all the cars but not activated (connected) unless you paid for the option. Certainly worth asking at the Mini service department (if you can't get an answer here).
It would almost make sense to have the elements on all the seats to reduce inventory. Cannot cost much more for manufacture and would be less complicated during assembly.
Well, even if it was possible, from what I gather, modules are like 250 each, and then there's the central console for another 270, and then there's the wiring. I have a feeling the modules aren't there.
So, perhaps the elements in the seat can be separately wired to a standalone setup.
While I still don't have the car, I've been led to believe by the salesman that the pads are in the seats. Likely plugs as well. But, I bet, no modules. They're like 275 and you need one for each seat. If they were there, I might spring for the console switch and wiring (if that wasn't too steep), and attempt to code the option. Not sure if I'd have to pay for that option (FSC code) as well, similar to XM radio capability.
