Auto A/C Controls

Does anyone know what is all involved with the auto A/C controls? Is it simply a different face place then the standard rotary switch plate? Other then the thermostat up on the dash is the wiring harness different etc?

Thanks in advance

Its not just the controls that are different, it is the entire mechanism. On the "Manual" controls, the three ***** are mechanical devices that open and close flaps, switch electrical contacts, etc. On the "climate control system," all the input is electric, so servo motors or other electric devices are needed to open and close the air control flaps that are moved by human power in the manual version. Plus the climate control system beeds a chip to what to do and when to do it. For instance, the decision to switch from air conditioning to heat as night falls and the outside temperature drops is easy for you - you just feel cold and turn on the heat. In the climate control system the car has to sense that you SHOULD be feeling cold and switch to heat. This "higher" function requires a lot of brain power for a heating system. (which usually has none.)
