Interior/Exterior MOMO Shift Knob

MOMO Shift ****
I had a new MOMO shift **** buried in my stuff from a past car. I thought I'd try it out in my R53. This is what it looks like:
The polished wood feels really nice under hand, better than my stock **** which had bits of chrome flaking off on the left side right where the thumb rests. But I have a couple of concerns:
1. Because of the design of the Momo, it can't sit as far down on the shifter lever and because it's taller than the spherical factory ****, it sits about an inch taller;
2 The stock **** is weighted. It feels like about six ounces. The Momo **** is probably only about three ounces.
Do either of these issues cause any concern? Does the weight of the stock **** affecting the shifting? Will there be shifting problems with the lighter ****?
So far it seems okay. Has anyone used one of these before?
Thanks in advance.
