DRL With Switchback LED?

2003 R50:

I recently had to replace the DRL in my Mini and noticed for the first time there are 2 bulbs (I've had this car a month, cut me a break), the white DRL and the blinker.

Well I got to thinking, is there a housing with just 1 light that I could use a Switchback LED in instead? (White all the time then blinks amber when I use my blinkers)

AND/OR would it be better to just put a switchback in the blinker's place and have 2 bulbs in there still? Would the switchback still light up white when not in blinker mode, or is there no power to it when the blinker is not engaged?

I feel like the single switchback bulb would be a cleaner look.

Your DRL is your high beam running at 50% power

I must not be calling it the right thing then, but I hoped my description was enough.

I'm talking about the light below the headlights and above where the fog lights go. Where the turn signal is.

It's all good - we were all new at one time.

Using a switchback will throw an error code and you'll have to rewire. It will also leave a hole for moisture and you don't want that. Just get a bulb that has a silver coating and blinks amber

Wouldn't a load resistor be the fix for that? I mean, there is still a bulb there, it just takes less power.

That's why I was trying to see if there was a housing with just one hole or that accepts just one bulb.
