Who makes the whitest high-beam bulb?

I'd like to replace my OEM bulbs with a bright white replacement. The choices seem to be PIAA, Sylvania and Osram for the H7. It seems like the Osram European, since they are clear, are the whitest. The PIAA XtremeWhite Plus available from Tirerack seem to be tinted blue at the tips. The Sylvania Silverstars are the best buy, but seem a bit blue.

Comments and advice please.

PIAA bulbs are great. I have Xtreme White H3 bulbs (in my rally lights) and Ion-Crystal H7 bulbs for my brights.

The Xtreme white bulbs do have a blue color to them which can be visible in the day.

PIAA's are rather expensive, but I think they are worth it. My favorite versions of PIAA bulbs are not DOT approved but can be ordered from companies that sell them "for show" or "off-road" use only

Of course, you can't really take a picture of how bright a lightbulb is. . . . . but here's a pic anyway

Thanks for the post and pic. Do these bulbs last as long as OEM or do they have a shorter life?

Very short life vs OE. I had PIAA superwhites on my other cars and they
lasted only about a year. The last few months, the light was pretty dim too.

I only use OE lights for low-beam on that car now and use PIAA superwhite
wedges and Ion-crystal H3's for fog.

On my MCS, i am using Polarg hyperwhite H7 in my DRL, parking bulb, and
PIAA Xtremewhite H3's in the PIAA 540 driving light kit. The DRL's will last
a long time because they are only 1/2 the power during the day. Polargs
are about 1/2 the price, Made in Japan (as PIAA's) and matches the HID's
well.

YuccaPatrol,
You have some bright eyes on that MINI. Not sure I would like to be on the receiving end. Just joking, sure they give you great visibility, without affecting the visibility of on oncoming drivers.

I have read other MINI drivers saying how good the bulbs are. I do believe the Xtreme bulbs have a slight blue color depending on the angel of view.

They are rather expensive, as you said, but I also think they are worth it.

And, as you said, can't really take a picture of how bright a lightbulb is. As always good info, YuccaPatrol.
Thanks
Charles
