LED Temperature question

Just a quick question that I hope someone can answer for me. What level of temperatures can LED lights withstand? I have four LEDs that I am currently attaching to my intercooler cover so that I may have light illuminating from the bonnet scoop. I just want to know if LEDs can withstand the heat that our little MINI engines put off. Thanks very much for any input.

Most higher quality consumer LED's are spec'ed at +80C max operational
+85C storage.

Since you have air coming into the intercooler area you
*should* be okay as long as you are moving. Ive seen
people using LED around radiators, etc. so you should be fine.

On the other end of the temperature scale, LEDs shine really bright in liquid Nitrogen.

If you don't mind, let me know how this works out. Sounds like a great idea.

I have had led's in my scoop for almost 12,000 miles now with no problem. And have them on all the time. I used one way diodes in the wiring and i do not get any backfeed that way, Tim

So where are the pics? Anyone else have some pics of this setup... I'm a bit of an LED freak! Thanks!
