Interior/Exterior Theoretical Discussion: Bonnet Stripe Placement

Theoretical Discussion: Bonnet Stripe Placement
Two points:
1)The BMW MINI placement of bonnet stripes is generally at the mid-point between the bonnet center and the wing section (...although, yes, it's all one pressing.)
2) Classic Mini bonnet stripes follow the contour of the bonnet edge/wing sections and accentuate the junction of these two body parts.
Has anybody experimented with placing MINI bonnet stripes further out on the bonnet, specifically, following more closely the bonnet/wing contour? I'm interested in your thoughts because I am constantly toying with the idea of bonnet stripes, but I'm considering a more traditional placement. Any thoughts on aesthetics? Or installation issues?
