In Regards to Tinting the Sunroof . Has anyone who has had there sun roof Tinted , actualy had the glass break ?

 

This doesn't answer your question, but, let me guess............no.

I might be wrong but I seriously doubt anyone who has had their sunroof tinted has had it break from the tint being there. Just doesn't seem likely to me.

The shop that did the tint on my Mini recommended a "limo tint" metalic for the sunroof. Since it is applied to the inside of the sunroof, the exterior still looks black. It keeps the interior much cooler, and it works great. I never use the fabric sunshade, but it still feels like open air motoring, with plenty of light. No issues with any cracking or other damage. I am in Hawaii, and ambient temps run @ 85 degrees and up daily.

 

There are quite a few tinted sunroofs on MINI and none to my knowledge have reported breaking of the glass.

A limo tint would be good in a sunny area. Much cooler but still lets in enough light.
