someone help! custom headlight build

I'm trying to build my own headlights for my Cooper s. I'm using the stock housings but I'm going to paint it, add plasma rings, swap out the lenses and rewire moderately. I have been looking all day for a part and cannot find it anywhere. Its the round bubble looking lense inside the headlight. I saw one a while back that had the mini symbol etched in it and I want to put those in my headlights. But I have no idea where I saw them and I can't find them. I need help searching for them online or at stores or anywhere. Please please please help. I really want the fancy lenses haha thanks everyone

The round bubble thing is called a projector. Maybe using the correct name for it would help you on your search, goodluck, and post pics when youre done!

http://www.theretrofitsource.com/com...l#.VMcNJ6V6jqB so I found this. But I don't need the housing. I'm pretty sure I saw the lens by itself and it was only around $20. But this is what I'm searching for. Thanks for the wording though. I just wish it turned up more results aside from camera lenses haha and pics will be put up!

On that same site, go to the accessories section, and they have the projectors for 40

I suppose I'll just have to pay it. If I'm gonna tear them open I might as well do it right

just get some out of an acura (ebay)

also, why in the hell do you want an emblem etched into the front of a lens?!
It is a LENS! The etching will only serve to distort and throw off light. Granted it might not be much, but why bother?

That being said, if you really want it, just get the acura ones off of ebay and then take it to a local shop that does glass / lexan etching and have them put it on the front if it means that much to ya.

It's a light etching and I'm upgrading to osram nightbreakers so it shouldn't matter how good the lens is. I want them to look good on or off.

why are you trying to go through the efforts of doing a custom headlamp and stick with halogens?

1780 lumens for a nightbreaker

2000+ lumens for an oe bmw type hid/xenon bulb

~3300 lumens for a 35 watt balast.

and over 5000 lumens for a 55watt balast (offroad and highbeam only please)

Plus light will be a lot more focused. see farther and better and the lights still look nice.

And, no, halogen housings should not be used with xenon bulbs for on-road applications.

I'm doing a lot of wiring inside these headlight s and it's my first build. I don't want to add the ballast and make it more complicated haha I'll change them eventually but for now I want to keep this simple while getting the look I want.

Isn't it just easier to buy the late model with the projectors built in?

I have the late model. But I'm gonna spend around 150 and have a pair of headlights no one else does. And I'm putting in halo rings and demon eyes. Also the color will match my black/yellow paint.
