Welcome to NAM!
Flat-towing or using a front-wheel dolly will mean you have to unhitch the rig to back up should the need arise. With the front-wheel lift dolly, you'll need to offload the MINI. And with flat-towing, some if not all states will require the added remote braking device which will easily add another $800-$1000 dollars on top of the tow gear you'll need to mount the the front-end.
Using a drive-on or drive-in (enclosed) trailer will eliminate those issues. Plus, they typically have wheels installed already depending on the size/model.
That said, why not just rent one from U-Haul when needed as they are usually pretty cheap when used "locally".
Here's some discussion from a few years ago on the MINI as a toad - https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...your-mini.html
