I appear to have a set of "R91 5 Star Bullets" according to a website. Never seen em before, not to happy with them, but I am keeping them to stick on my old mini that I am going to buy back and fix!!!

That's a 17 inch wheel. They're not that bad... if they're clean and don't have bad rash on em.

I just got an R53 and I've been thinking of adding an LED light bar to the lower grille/bumper area.

Was hoping this post had pics...but guess not. Lol, oh well. Does anyone have pics of someone who has actually done this?

I skimmed, but I did see the pics and figured it was because the original project car was wrecked.

Hope it comes out well!

WOOO!!

Funny thing, I saw grilles exactly like that at Way yesterday. I'm thinking of getting me a set, not really sure yet.

Hope it comes out well! I can't remember, are you doing a single or dual row light bar? flood-spot-flood pattern?

I am using a Morimoto XTorch 27inch. its a single row. there isnt much info on these bars. mainly brodozers using them on their lifted trucks. It is a good bar, far better than any eBay bar ive come across.

It has some "flood" reflector pods on the sides and some throw pods in the center. i have powered it up and it is bright with PLENTY of throw. if the throw isnt enough I will be putting two hella 500s in the OEM location with 55w HIDs :p

also these grilles are 60 dollars shipped off of eBay. just search "r53 grille" and youll find them. they arent jcw grilles but i like these better anyways

Hey now! I resemble that remark!!! (That's my truck and my old Mini). But I've seen those Bars before, they sell them at TheRetrofitSource, they are HQ'd in Atl just up the road from me. I think one of those is what I'm going to get.

I've got a 20" one on the front of my truck now and it's crazy the amount of light it puts out, and it's not a high dollar one, but it's not a cheap one either. I definitely could have gotten better...but it was $60 because they were overstocked.

Cool, i'll look at them, there are a few I'm considering. Also, are you mounting the bar in front of or behind the grille? And you're doing it on the lower one right?

Aww! But I wanna be a part of another cool kids club! Haha!

That's what I thought. I was thinking of doing mine in front first, but when I was talking about it with a friend he said he was thinking of doing a lightbar too but was going to put it behind. I thought about it and it does really make sense. It hides it well and it won't effect the light pattern.

I still can't believe no one has done this before. Definitely waiting on you to finish yours so I can see how it looks and have some images to give to my installer. I'm mechanically inclined, but not enough to do this. I mean hell, I snapped the strut mount studs 3x when installing Strut Tower Defenders!

It's alright Smitha6, we can start our own cool kids club, I'm lifting an 87 full sized bronco at the moment and also drive a 97 Cummins turbo diesel, extended cab and full sized bed. They're just jealous cause we can fit our cars in the beds of our trucks lol.

I'm interested in how the light bar goes as well. I'm thinking about being a copy cat as well and mounting a bar in the same place.

NICE! I had an 87 K-5 Blazer as my first vehicle. A Cummins huh? Well...I guess we can be friends, as long as you don't ride around with your tow mirrors flipped up! Haha! I know right? If I want to go somewhere I can take both vehicles!

Yeah, I'm really interested in the light bar. After doing a projector retrofit on my truck with HID's, LED fog light pods, and an LED light bar, the light output is CRAZY! I was convinced right then that I will ALWAYS invest in upgraded lighting for my vehicles.

Yep, brighter headlights are almost immediately my first mod on all my vehicles. And I actually don't have tow mirrors, I have the good ol' 80's holdover big square chrome jobbers, from when trucks were trucks, not luxury cars with beds lol.

this thread will be a guide for the specific bar i am using. the same grilles, lightbar and whatever else i find i need will be posted here along with measurements for cutting the bumper support.

brodozers are fine as long as you dont have HIDs in reflectors. another good reason i am doing this lightbar. to blind THOSE brodozers. ****'em. blind me, i blind you and your mother. lol

my old mini had 4 hella 700FFs, 55w hid lowbeams, 55w HID highbeams. mini H1 projectors. i am doing a H1 7.0 or a D2s 3.0 swap into my new mini. need to see what i have room for.

Pffff nothing but dim as crap halogens in my dodge and bronco. If you have seen the thread asking about hid conversions you would know I'm very against hid in anything but projectors lol.

Projectors with HID = not blinding on coming traffic. I hate it when that happens.
