Debadge Question about rear wings

Planning on debadging "Countryman" and possibly "Cooper S" on rear hatch as soon as I take delivery. Would like to take the "wings" of the rear center of the push button hatch but I'm reading that there are holes on either side. Can someone please confirm or deny this?

I understand removing things you don't like. If mine had had the big "COUNTRYMAN" letters across the back, I'd have been out there the night I brought the car home with a heat gun and dental floss. I think that would look "normal," since the earlier cars came that way. Having said that... Let me channel SWMBO for a minute:

I got a motorcycle several years ago that had some graphics on the fairing that I wasn't enamored of. I was considering removing them, and asked her opinion: "What do you think it would look like?" Without missing (half) a beat: "Like it's been repainted."

Just sayin'.

Well, I have an R53 and there are holes under the wings. Likely on yours too.

You could get a photo of the boot and get it photoshopped to see what it looks like naked. I'm sure there is someone on NAM that would do it if you don't have the software and/or skills.

Another forum I frequent has a whole tread dedicated to nothing but requests for Photoshop work.

I can probably do that for you. PM me if you want me to; I'll shoot you my email address, and I can either email you the result, or post 'em up here.

I appreciate the offer but, if there are holes, I will leave the wings. Thanks fellas!

Wanted to revive this thread to ask a quick question. Are the rear wings held on with glue, or are they bolted to the handle assembly. I'm thinking of adding a stripe, and I'd like it to run under the wings. Just wondering if I'm going to be disassembling the door latch or just using some dental floss to remove a decal.

Thanks!
