Well i got my mini a week ago and just mounted the driving lights (OEM) but they arent possitioned perfectly centerd in the bonnet stripe :???: . I was wondering whats the best way to fix it. Should i make the hole on the bracket bigger and slide the housing over or redrill all the three holes in the hood/grill and slide the braket over. The housingis about 1 mm to 1.5 mm off from where i want is and its killing me that its not PERFECT. Either method would make the holes ovals and not circles.

Any suggestions would be great.

Mmmmm... are they even? I have the driving lights
but no stripes... it would seem that they need not
line up with the stripes... just be even from the center
of the car. But if you move them, any method will
work, so long as they end up well secured... and the
holes will not show and can be sealed.

Good choice on having the driving lights, IMO they
really add intrigue to the car!

Godspeed.

If you really want it to be perfect, i think it would be much easier to move the stripes rather than re-drilling, and possibly mis-aligning the lights. You could even try going back to the dealer with your opinion, and seeing if they will change them for you...

Best of luck

Well if i were to move a stripe wouldnt that not be even with the other one. Also, if i peel it off, can i just put it back on?
I think i will make the hole on the braket since i can tighten that with a bolt rather then with a rivet which i cant controll once its on. And i will look into a sealant i suppose.

Thanks Cooper and Rally

One more thing...
I just went ot the store and they told me i may want to look into using JD or JB Weld. Its a two part mixture that you can use to fill up holes and drill though or do whatever. Has anyone used this stuff before? If it does work, where can i get it?

First I would not put any more holes in the MINI.
when you drill the hole, try and put a nut, bolt, washer combo in the hole, remark and
drill into throw away washer
if the new oval hole is to sloppy get a real weld put in the hole, file , and redrill
any kind of filler will rattle loose IMO

JB Weld. You can get it at your local Lowe's, Home Depot, or home improvement superstore of your choice.

I used it to secure my John Cooper signature badge to my boot. I've also used it to make a repair to the doors on my fireplace...

JBWeld-- My son and I used it to patch up an old
fishing boat, filled major holes, and it's still holding
after three years! Great stuff.

Dogspeed.

JB Weld.
My house is built out of the stuff.
We served it as dessert at our wedding in Central America, 'nary a guest complained of Montezuma's revenge.

DON'T DO IT JB weld is good for filling holes not for acting as a spacer. It will crack and fail as a filler in that thin area.

The problem is not the lights. They PUT THE STRIPES ON WRONG Have them get someone without a walking stick to put them on next time
