Aftermarket Steering Wheel Install
So I bought my Mini a few months back and the biggest thing i wanted to cange was the wheel... i mean... look at it.
So I went to work, and have been accumulating parts over time. Today everything came in! My main concern with this was the plastic tab that operates your auto turn-off feature of your turn signals. I tried my luck at the problem and I shaved it down until the hub was tight enough on it to where it would move with it. Not perfect, nor permanent, but I didn't have the patience to do anything else yet here is the finished install with my quick release and where I leave my wheel when I'm parked. Enjoy!

Track/rally steering wheels normally don't have airbags, so w/ old school cars decades back. That's the trade off. The tired 2 spoke wheels are the only aesthetic flaw to gen1 MINIs. I had to swap mine out, too. Instead of shaving the plastic tab, I copied the hole diameter & location of the OE hub & drilled 1 into the aftermarket 1. Works like a charm. Here are a coupla mine:

Minisanity, I'll have to do that in the near future! As for the no air bag problem. I run scroth harnesses and enjoy the feeling of them being tight so I'm not going to go anywhere! I also auto x the mini Yes and having the racing wheel and having it closer makes a huge difference. I dig the mini button on your wheel too! Where you pick that beauty up?

Blwn, always good to see pics of your mods. It's 2014, hope it's now where you want it to be!

There should have been instructions to read on this info.
There should also be connectors and short wires to allow plugging in the horn button, and a 2ohm for ("hopefully") turning off the airbag light. Mine didn't work, doesn't bother me anymore..! But my horn does work.
If you have no instructions, call the manufacturer or go digging into You-Tube. Both are actually pretty simple.
