Interior/Exterior CTD TT gas cap install anyone?

Has anyone installed the TT style gas cap from CTD Germany? Their translation of instructions leaves something to be desired, and better yet they send two sets of instructions, one of which seems to be completely irrelevant.
It's a very nice piece, better IMO than the one from Moss, but it seems to entail removing the entire existing hinge/door/plastic interior from the cooper. OK, but what's not clear is how to attach the nice new CTD piece.
Anyone else invested in this and installed it?
