I notice a lot of people buy the PIAA 540s. Why don't I see more 510s here? I like the size of the OEM lights, but they're too expensive and confining (only on with high-beams and must be programmed). PIAA makes 510s which look closer to the size of the OEM.

 

On reason is that PIAA has marketed a boxed set of 540's that include MINI-specific mounting brackets.

Might also have to do with the dimensions of the lamps? Although now that I see the diagrams side by side, it looks like either should fit well.

The biggest problem with these imho is that they do not come in chome. For that you have to move up to the larger 520s, which are sweet but pricey. Had them on my Cooper and they looked great, I think.
