Interior/Exterior Did I get a defective boost gauge?
#1
I ordered an Auto Meter boost gauge with vacuums and pressure display. Last couple of weeks, I've taken apart the intercooler several times, using different T fittings, tubes, and locations trying to make it work. Yet, the gauge still won't budge. I have a feeling that I have a defective gauge.
Here's my question, shouldn't the pointer be at 0 when the ignition is off? My gauge is constantly pointing at 30 in Hg, even when it's not connected. That's not normal, is it?

>>Dave, what max boost reading are you getting?
Here in Portland, max boost on mine is between 16-17 psi. From what I understand, the boost can vary depending on the altitude.
>>Did you use the "red" rubber cap on the lighting bulb?
Yes, that's the only way to match the OEM orange illumination.
