I ordered an Auto Meter boost gauge with vacuums and pressure display. Last couple of weeks, I've taken apart the intercooler several times, using different T fittings, tubes, and locations trying to make it work. Yet, the gauge still won't budge. I have a feeling that I have a defective gauge.

Here's my question, shouldn't the pointer be at 0 when the ignition is off? My gauge is constantly pointing at 30 in Hg, even when it's not connected. That's not normal, is it?

if there's no pressure or vacuum....

sounds like you're gauge is a bad one. Return and try again

Thanks, Ryan!!! I'm certain I got a defective gauge. I should've checked the gauge to make sure it wasn't defective. I thought Auto Meter manufactures quality products.

I replaced the defective gauge and now it's working perfectly. Here's a picture of the installed gauges, showing the illumination closely matching the factory orange red.

Does your new gauge still show 30 in Hg? That's about normal atmospheric pressure, so that should be correct, unless the gauge is zeroed out for that. The gauge is really a super sporty looking barometer! You might even be able to tell the weather from it!

>>Dave, what max boost reading are you getting?
Here in Portland, max boost on mine is between 16-17 psi. From what I understand, the boost can vary depending on the altitude.

>>Did you use the "red" rubber cap on the lighting bulb?
Yes, that's the only way to match the OEM orange illumination.
