Does anyone know for certain if the 2004 MCS alarm has a motion sensor? My MA thought it did and I tried to set it off and nothing happens.

I called MINI USA and they said it does, but for it to be active all of the windows and sun roof have to be closed for the motion sensor to be active. That does not make much sense to me. What is the purpose of a motion sensor if all of the windows have to be closed. Isn't it supposed to protect you from people reaching in your car? Anyone have a 2004 MCS with the alarm? How does yours work? Thanks!

I have a 2004 (12/03 build) and have the alarm. That is fale what miniUSA told you. The interior motion sensor will go off if you stick your arm in my car. Tested it several times with 100% sucess.

I have a 04 MCS, the alarm need 45 seconds to be initialized. windows is not a problem. the alarm works any time you hear the bling sound. (it means activated)

It dose not only work for interior it also work on the windows.
One day i was peeling one of my autocross sticker off the car, and as soon as i peel it off and walk away from the car the alarm sounds. i was impressed.
it keeps people away from peeping into your car too long!

Hello there,
I have an '04 MCS. Is there a way to activate and deactivate the alarm system. I don't mean with the FOB. I just got my car a couple weeks ago and it doesn't seem to have the alarm activated at all. Any advice?
THANKS

If you press the lock and un-lock buttons and there is no sound, then you don't have an alarm.
