Bored, Got Stripes?!

So Today I went to an auto cross event and saw a few Mini Coopers there. None of which looked plain or (standard) they all had some sort of graphics or something and looking back at mine I felt....well "plain"

I got back home and since I had the materials in my house already I said "what the hell!"

Went from plain to Stripes!!! I know not that big of a deal but oh well lol
Only took me about an hour to do!

Bottom pic isn't the greatest, Looks better then what the pic shows lol

Looks great, love the red accents on the side. Also good job on doing them yourself, that sure isn't easy to do!

Ya I'd really would like to get some red mirrors! Thinking also about puting the same stripes going down the back. Then maybe......maybe down the road do a red roof but thats a maybe. But thats all I'd really like to do as far as the red accents.

Still not the greatest photo but it puts a little more light on it.

It's amazing what a difference they make. I sat on the fence for almost a year before deciding to add stripes to mine (added the lights first). Now I look back at earlier photos, and it's hard to imagine I didn't always have them.

Red mirror caps would look excellent. Matching boot stripes would look very good. Red roof would be outstanding ! Bold... be sure you want to do it before you make that kind of commitment though. You any good with photoshop ?

no not the greatest with photoshop, I do better with an actual Paint gun lol. I have a few pics of a JCW That has the red pinstripes and red mirrors and red roof and I think it looks so damn good!!, The difference is its all black where as mine as you can see is Silver so im not sure how the red roof would look but I am really curious and debating it.

Well lets face it, If I didn't think it looked good with the silver paint job I would repaint the car black and Baam! sexy as hell again lol

Silver and red is a great combo also. Not quite as eye popping as black and red but still damn sharp.

Wrapping a roof will run you about $400 for the graphic unless they've gotten cheaper since I had my roof wrapped in checkerboard back in 2007. Labor to have a pro install it will run another couple hundred. So with $600 invested, at the most, it can always be reversed if you don't like it. But I'm pretty sure you will !

BAAM! Lol I did the Back, wasn't sure if I should take it over the bumper so I just did the trunk lid for now.
Took me another hour, this time though I did a lot better job. Still not perfect only being my second time with this stuff but I think I did alright.

Wow, you don't mess around !

I like it ! I prefer to take the badge off and replace it on top of the stripes but I've seen others cut the stripe around the badge, not too bad !

Cutting it yourself, it's harder to make sure the line of the stripe goes in line with the line of the hatch but you came verrrrrry close.

Red mirrors next ?

Black roof or red roof... either way, your MINI is/will be sharp !

been awhile since I've posted here,

I too have been feeling like I need to do something to my MINI. I've never cared for stripes all that much, ...yet i am starting to have a change of heart. I want something a little different than most of the stripes I've seen.

Was thinking of having this custom painted.
Dark silver outline w/ black center.

what do you think? should I do this or not? (the plain version is my MINI now, with the stripes are my Photoshop work).

Its no problem, I say go with those stripes! But really its all in what you like. Where you got them set in your photo I think looks good!

Thanks NAMze, ...yeah, I kind of like them ...and I know it is all what i like. But did want to get others opinions before I did anything. Wanted a reality check if If everyone thought they were/are hideous.

I like yours w/ the thin red line. ...that's another dilemma, ...go w/ matt vinyl or painted gloss!!

Do it so long as you like it. Putting stripes on or removing it is a relatively easy process. I changed my stripes at least 5 times since the beginning of the year already. That's the beauty of it. They're cheap enough that you use trial and error.
